To effectively use Cerberus Enterprise you need to understand some key concepts about how the system works.

The system issupports basedboth onAndroid and Apple device management:

On Android, Cerberus Enterprise uses Google's official Android Management API, a solution that allow enterprises to effectively manage work devices through the Android Device Policy app (ADP), that is able to control enrolled Android devices.. Most of the functionalitiessettings are enforced on devices directly fromby ADP,ADP. howeverSome weoptional features may also userequire anthe additionalCerberus Enterprise companion app, specificwhich extends what is possible beyond ADP alone.

On Apple devices, Cerberus Enterprise manages devices through Apple MDM (Mobile Device Management). Apple management requires an APNs certificate and can optionally integrate with Apple Business Manager for Cerberusautomated Enterprise,enrollment thatand enablesapp some additional functionalities, currently not supported by ADP.licensing.

Each device can be enrolled into the system using an Enrollment token, thator canan beEnrollment createdprofile from(Apple themanual dashboard.enrollment). EachThe enrollment tokenmethod has anis associated with a Policy, that contains all the defined rules that should be applied to devices. 

IT admins can change the policy associated towith a device after theenrollment. enrollment, howeverHowever, each device can be associated towith only one policy at a time.

During the enrollment (provisioning) process, the required management components are installed and configured automatically. On Android this typically includes the Android Device Policy app and(and, depending on your configuration, the Cerberus Enterprise companion appapp). areOn automaticallyApple installeddevices, onmanagement is applied through MDM once the device.device is enrolled. Consequently, the corresponding policy is automatically applied on the device, and all the associated rules will beare enforced by ADPthe andplatform Cerberusmanagement Enterprise.system.

A policy can be applied to many devices. In this case, when you modify the policy, all the associated devices will receive the changes.
